- In 2021, 874 fatalities in Florida involved alcohol-impaired driving. This accounts for 23.3% of all traffic fatalities in Florida.
- Drug-Impaired Driving:
- In 2021, 22.3% of Florida traffic fatalities involved drug-impaired drivers (including both illegal and prescription drugs).
- The presence of both drugs and alcohol significantly increases crash risk. Studies show that a combination of alcohol and drugs can be more dangerous than either substance alone.
